As we officially end our 5th year of our annual food drive, we wanted to once again express our gratitude for all of you who helped make it a success.  This year was our first year changing from an auction format and instead giving sessions to everyone who made a minimum donation.  When we announced the results, people had pledged to donate 545 food items and $320 in grocery gift cards!  With the help of some couponing friends, we used those gift cards to go shopping for even more food.  Our kids felt so proud as we filled multiple shopping carts and thought of all the families who would be helped by this food.  We love having our entire family involved in this food drive.  We know that the joy of giving that they experience through this is something that will grow in their hearts and help to make them into the amazing people we know they will grow up to be!

We are happy to say that we will be taking a total of 851 food items and a donation of $150 to the local food pantry!  They can use the gift card donation for turkeys, hams, or other items that they cannot store on the shelves.  A quote attributed to Mother Teresa states, “We can do no great things; only small things with great love.”  Though the statistics about hunger in America are staggering, so many people in our community who might not have had anything to eat will now have food thanks to the loving people who participated in this food drive.  Highlights from their holiday mini sessions are on the blog!
