My Little Party: Our Daughter’s Session and Birthday

JASON BLOGGING:

In case you missed the previous blog post, I’m helping Lucia out and blogging our kids’ sessions this year.  Last year Lucia didn’t have time to blog them and we ended up not sharing the pictures at all.  Our kids are too cute not to share!  If you don’t believe me, check out pictures of our daughter’s session this year:

Despite all that cuteness, this is a look I’m very familiar with too:

This year she has been into horses and though she never seemed really into My Little Pony, that’s the party theme she picked for her birthday.  The theme surprised us a little, but her next request really shocked us – she said she wanted her birthday party to be completely junk food free!  She didn’t want any candy or chips or even a cake!  In fact, when we bought a pinata and candy to go inside of it, she made us return the bag of candy!  She decided on lots and lots of fruit, some crackers, and a “cake” of apple and blueberry muffins instead.  Though she doesn’t like carrots, she wanted a tray of apple slices and carrots since she said ponies love both of those things.  The only real junk food she allowed was a bowl of Apple Jacks cereal since her favorite My Little Pony was Applejack.  She also granted us her special permission to put mini marshmallows at the bottom of the fruit rainbow that Lucia created.  We were surprised, but very proud of her too!  I hope the trend continues!  For her party, we rented a moonbounce with a water slide, had friends over, and had a great time.

Out of all of our kids, our daughter is the one with the most creative, vivid imagination!  She can draw anyone in with her stories, and she tells them with lots of drama and excitement.  It is going to be fun to see her grow…but not too fast!
