Kathy’s family will now always be part of the craziness that is our baby’s birth story. Their session was scheduled for 2 weeks after our due date, so we never expected a scheduling conflict. But of course, baby number 8 was stubborn! When I went in for my induction, they had no labor rooms available for us to be admitted, so they would not start the induction until there was a room (a day later!) Our baby ended up being born the day of the session. Jason still planned to go to the session, but we then found out that they don’t let anyone back into the mom/baby unit past a certain time, so if he did the session he wouldn’t be able to stay the night at the hospital with me. They would not make an exception.
Kathy and her family were understanding and were able to rush to change their time to earlier (which I know isn’t easy with so many people) so Jason could go do their session and still make it back to stay with me for our baby’s first night. Thanks so much to all of them for working things out with us!!!
It has been a difficult week for our family as we have lost a loved one, but looking at our baby is a reminder of God’s goodness and blessings. Please be patient with us if it is taking us a bit longer to respond to emails and phone calls right now.
